Reducing Valve

DEFINITION

A reducing valve is a specific type of regulatory device that reduces the air pressure throughout the rest of the machine. It can be used in the production of drugs to control the amount of pressure being applied to a specific mixture. Reducing valves come in many shapes and forms, and they can be customized to meet the needs of the specific production process. Reducing valves typically have a wheel or a nozzle that can be physically adjusted, along with a barometric gauge that lets the user know exactly what the pressure is as the nozzle is turned.
