Lysergamide

DEFINITION

A lysergamide is a specific type of chemical structure. It is an amine of lysergic acid, meaning that a nitrogen group of the base structure has been slightly altered. Lysergamides exert their effects on dopamine and serotonin receptors throughout the human body. Changes in levels of dopamine and serotonin lead to a variety of effects including changes in mood, feelings of euphoria, and possible hallucinations.
